ABOUT JAMIE AND WHY GOLDENHOUR 

Hi and Welcome! 

 

Massage Therapy is something that just happened for me, a gift given. I was talking with a friend about hands on adjusting in my yoga practice and how I might get a Thai Yoga Certification to get better and they said, "stop playing small and go get certified, you would be excellent". This, I guess, is all it took for my heart to sing a resounding YESSSSSS! Two weeks later I was enrolled in and starting school at Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC. This was in 2021. I had no idea what I was doing, what I was getting myself into, or for that matter, how it would drastically change my life for the better. Massage changed me, it shaped me, and it showed me just how powerful and healing it could be. I knew I was on to something big here.

I chose GoldenHour as my name/brand because Photography has always been a passion and I chase sunsets for joy. There is something magical about the colors of a sunset and how they make you feel. I wanted that to translate into physical touch for healing purposes. I get to mix my passion and my purpose, and it just works. Healing is always on the horizon when we choose self and chase it.

I started my business right after school in 2022 knowing my vision clearly. I am transparent that my practice is always evolving as I learn and grow and so far, my amazing clients have been along for the ride. I work within lots of modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, aroma therapy, hydrotherapy, cupping, myofascial, and Sarga which is a barefoot modality. There are SO many more things I want to learn and part of why I love this work is I can learn for 100 years and still have more to go. It never gets boring. This is only the start of what I will create.

I am trauma informed, a 200hr yoga teacher with Vetoga (a Veteran Nonprofit) with 5 years of teaching experience, Reiki Master and deep intuitive who has gone through 15 years of my own chronic pain. I am a veteran myself and have 15 years of customer service in many other fields prior to that. So, my toolbox is vast.
